Living Hope has created several different programs to cater to the unique needs of the area, making it an easy fit for a wide range of groups to volunteer with. For instance, Children's Clubs and Holiday clubs reach out to kids faced with poverty and disease, Living Grace ministers to the homeless and destitute, Living Way empowers future entrepreneurs, and construction and landscaping projects help to keep our facilities and communities beautiful.
Many teams choose a combination of a community evangelism outreach, visiting door-to-door in one of our communities, coupled with an HIV and AIDS testing initiative. Teams members are really connected to the local people and experience, first-hand many of the challenges our clients face daily. This gives them the opportunity to offer the Hope and Love of Jesus to exactly the same people He would have visited. Most teams involved in evangelism outreach also participate in the afternoon children’s club in that same community. It’s rewarding to connect the dots between the children, the family and the community, and allows the kind of involvement team members are hungry for.
Beyond these projects though are many other opportunities. Living Hope will work with your team to determine how best to grow and apply your team's skillset. Business, worship, accounting, time management, goal setting, health care....all of these talents and more can be used in very creative ways to partner with Living Hope's ministry in profound ways.
Not only will your team have the opportunity to serve on the front lines of the AIDS pandemic and serve the Cape Town community, they will have the opportunity to enjoy the many wonders the area has to offer, like Table Mountain, Cape Point, and much more. Additionally, Team Leaders will be able to have peace of mind due to the special relationship Living Hope has with the Team House, (www.theteamhouse.com), who provide first rate logistical support to meet every team need, including lodging, freshly prepared meals, all transportation, touring, and support in all ministry activities and projects.
